The progress report for our project in Lai Chau province from March to June 2024 has been compiled.

From 10 to 15 March 2024, the screening days were conducted, where a comprehensive screening was carried out for 342 children hailing from different districts in Lai Chau province. Center II places great emphasis on education, and this was evident as our doctors and staff trained a total of 115 nurses from communes, health workers, and provincial doctors during the screening process. This training aimed to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to proficiently implement our screening methods.

After a span of three months, the awaited moment arrived. Between June 10 and June 16, 2024, our group, comprised of 12 individuals, journeyed to Lai Chau province. The medical team had little time for leisure, as consultations commenced promptly in the afternoon, with previously screened children being reevaluated and final decisions on surgical procedures being made in the presence of their parents. Over the course of the following week, a structured routine unfolded: conducting surgeries and visiting wards where post-operative children were recuperating. A total of 79 children underwent surgeries during this period, with 6 children receiving additional treatments.
