On the morning of August 5, the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Hospital in Dong Hoi, in collaboration with Center II - Direct Support for Disabled Children, which operates under the Vietnam Association for the Relief of Disabled Children, held the opening ceremony for the aforementioned program. The event was graced by prominent experts in cosmetic and orthopedic surgery from esteemed institutions such as Bach Mai Hospital, E Hospital, and Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy.
The "Screening and Surgery for Disabled Children" program represents a significant humanitarian effort that has been successfully executed by the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Hospital and Center II in recent years, providing invaluable assistance to underprivileged and ethnic minority children in Quang Binh province. This initiative offers disabled children the chance to receive complimentary screening and surgical procedures at the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Hospital, aiming to alleviate the challenges faced by these children and their families. Following the program's inauguration, medical professionals commenced screening examinations to determine the surgical needs of the disabled children. The total of 46 children receiving free surgeries during this period.
This year's program is generously supported by Professor Dr. Tran Thiet Son, who serves as the head of the Department of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery at Bach Mai Hospital and the University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Hanoi National University). He is also actively involved as an expert in the program being conducted in Quang Binh province.
